DESCRIPTION
A beautifully aged antique French pot à confit, sourced and attributed as 19th-century Moustiers faïence blanche from the South of France.
Formed from terracotta and finished in a soft white tin glaze, the vessel retains an unglazed base where the warm natural terracotta remains visible. Its rounded form, substantial twin handles, and beautifully irregular surface give it the quiet sculptural quality found in old French utilitarian pottery.
Originally created as a functional household vessel, this piece now carries the layers of its history beautifully. Tonal variation, glaze wear, staining, and surface patina have softened the white finish over time, creating a piece that feels distinctly collected rather than pristine.
