DESCRIPTION
A wonderfully characterful vintage French preserve jar, hand-lettered “Confiture d’Abricots avec amandes douces” — apricot jam with sweet almonds.
Made from warm, natural-toned pottery, the jar retains its original fitted lid, small side handles, and beautifully imperfect handwritten lettering. An old paper label remains on the lid, while additional handwritten markings on the base add another layer to its history.
Originally used for storing homemade preserves, pieces like this were part of the everyday rhythm of the French kitchen. What was once purely utilitarian now feels wonderfully decorative—the graphic black lettering against the softly aged pottery giving this one an especially strong presence.
