A French wooden screw press, originally used in early woodworking and joinery practices.
Constructed entirely from wood, the piece features a hand-carved screw mechanism and a simple, functional frame—its form shaped by utility rather than ornament. Over time, it has developed a warm, worn patina, with visible markings and scattered wormholes that speak to its age and use.
The silhouette is quietly striking: a strong, architectural “C” form balanced by the vertical screw, giving it a sculptural presence beyond its original purpose.
Now removed from the workshop, it reads as an object of character—equally compelling styled on open shelving, layered into a vignette, or used as a grounding element within a collected interior.
